Playing catch up

Here's some more random shots letting you know what we are up to while trying to play catch up with my blog.

Rob and I went out for a date to Yoshihashi's. Supposedly he is the original Iron Chef. I just love that he's Japanese, but speaks Spanish and has tons of pictures with famous people up all over his restaurant. If you ask, he'll pose for a picture with you.

I joined a gym co-op (since there are no gyms that you can join that have babysitting included). I've actually been on the wait list for 2 years and since I only have one kid at home now I was accepted into the co-op (when I had 4 kids at home I would have to wait for another family of four kids to drop out and let's face it, that wasn't going to happen). I can't say that I've been stellar about it. I did work out one day, but the other days I surfed the Internet, planned Youth Conference, stretched out, and just took a shower. I need to get motivated. This is a picture of the room with padded walls that the kids play in while I work out. The kids in my time slot are a dream. They are all so well behaved.

Issy likes to sing all the time....in the car, in her room, everywhere. Most of the time the songs are just jibber jabber. Like this little clip I took.

The other day Rob went on a deep sea fishing adventure. He spent 8 hours puking and 30 minutes fishing. He even took some prescription sea sickness medication before he left. Now, let's not have any jokes about him being a sailor yet getting sea sick, but it happens quite often. Does this mean he'll never be deployed on a ship? Here's hoping!

Afterwards we all ate fresh tuna. I admit that I've never tried fish and wasn't excited to taste tuna either. However, I must say that it didn't taste fishy at all (an attribute I've been told is because of how fresh it was and because we took the skin off). More amazingly the kids each tried it. Here are the reviews:

Pull up a chair and enjoy a popcicle on a hot fall day.

Ben decided it would be a good idea to sleep in this plastic bin one night. We moved him once he went to bed and he woke up livid as to why he wasn't in there anymore. A simple thank you that he didn't have a kinked neck would have done.

Ben collecting crabs on Sesuko Island (2010 version).

Yeah, it was a bit hot.

Father and Son catching starfish.

A video about Ben and Rob's snorkeling experience.

I'm so glad you tried the tuna! It is the best fish I've ever had. Probably because it doesn't taste fishy. Are the China pics coming up next?
