A trip to the post office

Since we are starting our countdown for our last year on Oki, I thought I'd start blogging about all the things we experience that has to either do with military life or life on Okinawa. Here we go!

I went to the post office on Friday. I felt like I was experiencing Vietnam though. These Marines were on patrol doing some sort of exercise and it scared the bageebees out of me having guys with guns surrounding my car looking for the enemy. I'm sure they were just rubber guns (at least that's what I'm telling myself) and they were only doing their job, but do they need to do it in a family housing area?

I hate to break it to you, but the guns are real. They wouldn't have been loaded for an exercise in housing, though. Isn't it a wild life we live?
