So I was explaining to the kids what a tsunami was. Ben was born two days after the Indonesian one hit in 2004 and with the Samoan one that just hit I thought I'd teach a little science to the kids. We actually had a tsunami warning here from that Samoan quake. Anyway so I was telling them that you have to get to high ground and how it can sweep you under the water. I even showed them a little video clip of cars and furniture getting swept away in the heavy currents. Later that night they were drawing and this is what they came up with:
The above one is Noah's. He said we are happy at our friends' house who lives at the top of a hill. The people in the water are sad because they are drowning and there is a dresser floating in the water. Maybe I was a bit too graphic? Ben's depicts the same thing in all his 4 year old-ness.
The munchkins all ready for a movie night.
Kate's new bad habit....sucking her fingers. I try to stop her most of the time, but how much time does a fourth child really get? She is still swaddled at night so fortunately I can control what she does 12 hours of the day. I REALLY hope she isn't a thumb/finger sucker because both her parents did so until FIFTH GRADE!
Ben in some of Rob's pants. Please note, if I may brag for just a second, that Rob is in the background folding laundry. Yeah, he's the best!
