Force Protection Condition: DELTA

Normally we are under force protection condition: ALPHA (or A). This past week the marines have been holding an exercise pretending we are in DELTA condition. Basically it means we are all "pretending" that a terrorist attack has occurred and security was increased. Mostly it meant that we had to show our ID cards more (was that possible to begin with?) and there were guys with bazooka type guns at the gates (okay...maybe a slight exaggeration). Anyway, my girlfriends and I got stopped going through one gate for a random security check. Here they are searching our car with the bullet proof vests and using mirrors to check under the car. Just another happy day in the military. Oh, it was my birthday. Maybe they knew I needed something to blog about.
