Isabella hits the "terrific" twos

Issy turned 18 months on December 1st. It's a good thing because she's been BEGGING to go to nursery at church for quite a while now. Well, looking at this sweet picture you'd probably wonder how anything so peaceful could cause frustration. True, she is an angel and is happy most of the time. She's friendly to everyone she meets. However, when she wants something and doesn't get it, she turns into a beast unlike no other. Complete meltdown. Now, my boys have had their fair share of tantrums, but you can always tell they are just being toddlers. Isabella howls like I've just ripped out every single nail and I'm now preparing to gouge out her eyes. When I'm home this is no big deal. When I'm at the grocery store and she decides that she doesn't like sitting in the cart any longer....it is downright embarrassing. Normally I have tunnel vision when I'm out with my kids. Someone could drop a bomb and I wouldn't notice because I'm so focused on what I'm doing and not losing one of them. But, when Isabella starts screaming everyone notices us and it's hard not to see that everyone is staring at me like, "why don't you help your poor child." Is this just a girl thing? I do my best to ignore it hoping it is just a phase.... a very short lived one. She is really a total doll most of the time.

I know how you feel. Coleman is SO loud all the time. When he was a baby it didn't matter whether he was happy or sad he was just so loud. I would just have to put him in his crib and shut the door just to have some peace.
He also SCREAMS a lot in public when he is mad or frustrated. Sacrament meeting is the worst. When I have to take him out for the 3rd or 4th time everybody just looks at me like-oh boy she has her hands full. This is why I am not pregnant again right now. I don't think I could handle a baby and him at the same time. I just keep telling myself that we will get through it. I try to laugh it out a lot. It is interesting that they can frustrate you so much one minute and the next you just can't believe how cute they are. (Sorry for the long story). Oh the joys of parenthood.

Gorgeous pictures and adorable little girl.

I can hardly believe that she wouldn't be wonderful all the time! (Don't you hate when people say that?!?)

It seems that every time I am about to tear out my hair with Walker's behavior, my Mom says 'Oh but he is my angel boy'. Ha!

She is SUCH a doll! I can't believe she is begging to go to nurery. How nice. Took me 6 months of going in with Kasen to get him to go alone. I believe that she can be loud and frustrating. Every kid has their moments, but its a good thing she IS so cute!

I like the picture of her on the beach. Oh, things to look forward to with Jacob. For now, no real tantrums, but I'm sure I'll be in for it sometime in the near future :(

She does look ADORABLE in that dress and those pictures. Sorry about those meltdowns, that sounds hard. When people start staring at you just give them a big smile back! My friend's baby went through that same stage, she was so cute, but when she had her tantrums she has hysterical! I think it just ended up being a pretty short stage she was going through, hopefully same with Isabella! You're a great mom.

Those pictures are amazing! I LOVE them!

Gunner hit the terrible twos also...a few weeks early. It felt good to read your blog today, because today he had about a 2 hour fit. I about lost it. If you can do it, I can. :)

Melissa,
Those pictures are BEAUTIFUL. I hope they are blown up and framed somewhere in your house.
Kate is right behind Issy, she's almost 17 months. She goes to nursury next month. Its just a whole year of never getting anything out of sacrament meetings, and a lot of patience! Its totally worth it for all of the mommy moments!
love,
mel
